Sweet and Savory Honey Butter Chicken

A delightful blend of honey and butter enveloping tender chicken, creating a sweet and savory dish perfect for any occasion.

  • 1.5 lbs chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • Black pepper and salt to taste
  • Fresh herbs (like thyme or parsley) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the chicken.
  3. Cook undisturbed for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown, then flip and cook for another 5-7 minutes.
  4. Lower the heat to medium, add honey, remaining butter, minced garlic, and soy sauce; stir and simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Increase heat slightly to caramelize the sauce for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  6. Remove from heat, garnish with fresh herbs, and serve with your choice of sides.

Notes

For a different flavor, try adding cayenne pepper for spice or swap soy sauce with apple cider vinegar.
