Savory Cabbage Beef Bake

A comforting one-pan dish combining ground beef, savory seasonings, and nutritious cabbage in a tomato-infused mixture.

  • 5 grams paprika
  • 5 grams garlic powder
  • 15 millilitres Worcestershire sauce
  • 200 grams cooked rice
  • 410 grams canned diced tomatoes with juice
  • 1 small cabbage, shredded
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 450 grams ground beef

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and cook until it becomes translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in your seasonings: Toss in the Worcestershire sauce, paprika, and garlic powder. Mix well.
  4. Add the vegetables: Combine the shredded cabbage, canned diced tomatoes with juice, and cooked rice. Stir until well mixed.
  5. Spoon the mixture into a baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Cover tightly with foil to retain moisture.
  7. Slide the dish into the preheated oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes until the cabbage softens.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it chill for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Use pre-cooked rice or leftover rice to save time. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days and freeze well for up to 3 months.
