Scale
  • 2 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 cup packed light or dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature

  • 1 and 1/4 cups mini or regular-size M&Ms
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  3. Mix the melted and cooled butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth in a large bowl.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla to the butter-sugar mixture and mix until incorporated.
  5. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just mixed.
  6. Fold in the M&Ms and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Spread the dough in the prepared pan and smooth it out.
  8. Bake for 26 to 30 minutes or until the top is lightly browned and a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for at least one hour, then lift out and cut into squares.

Notes

If you like extra melty pockets of chocolate, warm the pan slightly before serving.
