Garlic Butter Chicken Broccoli

A quick and satisfying weeknight meal featuring tender chicken pieces, crisp-tender broccoli, and a rich garlic butter sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces, season with salt and pepper, and sauté for 5 to 6 minutes until golden and cooked through. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add 1/4 cup water and the broccoli florets. Cover and steam for 2 to 3 minutes until bright green and crisp-tender. Discard any excess water.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the butter to the skillet and once melted, stir in the minced garlic for about 30 seconds.
  4. Stir in the soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes if using. Allow the sauce to come together for a few seconds.
  5. Return the chicken to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic butter sauce. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes to combine the flavors.
  6. Gently fold in the steamed broccoli until well mixed. Adjust salt and pepper if needed.
  7. Remove from heat, sprinkle with sesame seeds and parsley if using, and serve warm.

Notes

For a saucier finish, spoon any pan juices over rice or pasta when serving.
