  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 puff pastry sheets, slightly thawed
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 1/2 cup jam, jelly, or chocolate chips
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Beat the cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth; mix in the egg yolk, lemon juice, and vanilla.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 4×4 inch squares, pricking the centers lightly with a fork.
  4. Whisk together the egg white and water; brush over the edges of each pastry square.
  5. Spoon the cream cheese filling into the center of each square, topping with jam, jelly, or chocolate chips.
  6. Arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper; bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Whisk powdered sugar and milk for the glaze.
  8. Allow to cool slightly, then drizzle the glaze over before serving.

Notes

Brush egg wash evenly over the pastry edges for a beautiful finish. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
