Cheesesteak Meatloaf

A comforting dish that combines the juicy flavors of a cheesesteak with hearty meatloaf, filled with ground beef, pork, vegetables, and gooey provolone cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup sliced green onions
  • 1/2 cup sliced roasted red peppers

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the ground beef, ground pork, chopped onion, chopped green bell pepper, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Mix until well combined.
  3. Press half of the meat mixture into the bottom of a loaf pan.
  4. Layer half of the provolone cheese, sliced mushrooms, sliced green onions, and roasted red peppers over the meat mixture.
  5. Top with the remaining meat mixture and press to seal the edges.
  6. Bake for 60 minutes, or until the meatloaf is cooked through.
  7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the remaining provolone cheese over the top. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
  8. Let the meatloaf rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve slices with a side of vegetables or mashed potatoes for a satisfying meal!

Notes

If the mixture is too loose, add a little more breadcrumbs. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can freeze the uncooked meatloaf before baking.
