Biscuits Gravy Hashbrown Bake

A comforting casserole filled with sausage, crispy hash browns, and buttermilk biscuits, perfect for brunch or family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
  • 180 grams shredded cheddar cheese
  • 480 millilitres whole milk
  • 1 packet (78 grams) McCormick Sausage Flavour Gravy Mix
  • 360 grams frozen shredded hash browns
  • 450 grams premium pork sausage
  • 1 can (454 grams) buttermilk biscuits

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 190°C and lightly grease a 33×23 cm baking pan for even baking.
  2. Cook the pork sausage in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into crumbles until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Spread the frozen hash browns in the prepared baking dish, then top with the crumbled sausage.
  4. Whisk together the sausage gravy mix and milk until smooth, then pour over the sausage and hash browns.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly across the casserole.
  6. Cut each biscuit into four pieces and distribute evenly over the top.
  7. Bake in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the biscuit tops are golden brown and the center is set.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving hot.

Notes

For a crispier hash brown layer, try frying the hash browns briefly before adding them to the baking dish. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven.
