The Ultimate Cheesy Ground Beef Melt

A luscious blend of seasoned ground beef, gooey cheese, and savory toppings, all sandwiched between crispy bread. Perfect for family dinners or casual gatherings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese (shredded)
  • 4 slices Bread (sourdough or whole-grain)
  • 1 medium Onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and minced garlic; cook until softened and fragrant (3-4 minutes).
  2. Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart. Season with paprika, salt, and pepper; cook for 6-8 minutes until browned.
  3. Once the beef is cooked, sprinkle in 1 ½ cups of cheese, stirring until melted and well combined.
  4. If preferred, lightly toast the bread slices in a toaster or on a dry pan for 2-3 minutes until golden.
  5. Spread the beef and cheese mixture over 2 slices of bread, top with remaining cheese, and cover with the second slice of bread.
  6. Add more oil to the skillet, place the sandwiches, and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cheese is bubbling.
  7. Remove from skillet, let cool for a minute, then slice and serve.

Notes

For a spicy kick, consider adding jalapeños. Use turkey or plant-based meat as substitutes for the beef.
