The Magic of Peppermint Holiday Bars

Delightful holiday bars featuring a creamy peppermint filling and a buttery chocolate crust, perfect for festive gatherings.

  • 1 ½ cups chocolate graham cracker crumbs
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 2 cups whipped topping
  • ½ cup crushed candy canes
  • 4 oz dark chocolate, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine chocolate graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Mix until the crumbs are thoroughly coated.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking pan, pressing firmly. Bake for 10 minutes until slightly firm, then let cool.
  4. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and peppermint extract; mix until fluffy. Fold in whipped topping.
  5. Spread the peppermint filling over the cooled crust, smoothing it out evenly.
  6. Chill the bars in the fridge for at least 3 hours until set.
  7. Before serving, drizzle melted dark chocolate on top and sprinkle crushed candy canes.

Notes

For a kid-friendly version, reduce the peppermint extract or replace it with vanilla extract.
