Peanut Butter Blossoms

Delightful peanut butter cookies topped with chocolate kisses, perfect for family gatherings and bake sales.

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Chocolate kisses (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter and peanut butter. Beat until creamy and smooth, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Mix in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until well combined and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie as soon as you remove them from the oven.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature ingredients. Store cookies in an airtight container to keep them soft.
