Peanut Butter Blossoms

Peanut Butter Blossoms are a classic cookie with a delightful combination of peanut butter and chocolate, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 13/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon table salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (extra for rolling)
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 3/4 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 40 to 42 milk chocolate kisses, unwrapped

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and table salt. Set aside.
  2. In a stand mixer, beat the unsalted butter until it is smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar to the mixer, creaming them together until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in the smooth peanut butter until fully combined, making sure to scrape the sides of the bowl as needed.
  5. Beat in the milk, vanilla extract, and egg until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  6. Gradually mix in the flour mixture until a stiff dough forms. Cover the dough and refrigerate for 30 to 60 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Place the extra granulated sugar in a shallow bowl.
  8. Scoop the dough into 1-1/4 inch portions, roll them into balls, and then coat each ball in sugar. Place them on ungreased baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the cookies are set and lightly browned.
  10. As soon as you remove the cookies from the oven, press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.
  11. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  12. Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for 3 to 5 days, or freeze them for 2 to 3 months.

Notes

For a crunchier texture, consider using crunchy peanut butter. You can also drizzle melted chocolate over the cookies for extra indulgence.
