NYC Thin and Gooey Cookies

Delightful thin and gooey cookies reminiscent of New York City bakeries, featuring a perfect balance of buttery edges and a chewy, chocolate-filled center.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda, then gradually mix into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and scoop tablespoons of dough onto the tray, spacing them apart.
  7. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until edges are golden and centers appear soft. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes
