Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles

A quick and flavorful dish featuring tender ground beef and chewy noodles enveloped in a rich soy sauce-based sauce, garnished with fresh green onions.

  • 8 oz. egg noodles or spaghetti
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, minced
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the noodles: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Brown the beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and cook for about 5–7 minutes until browned.
  3. Add aromatics: Stir in the minced garlic and ginger and cook for an additional 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Mix in sauces: Pour in the soy sauce and brown sugar, stirring well to combine. Allow to simmer for 3–5 minutes.
  5. Toss the noodles: Add the cooked noodles to the skillet, tossing them with the beef mixture until well-coated.
  6. Finalize and serve: Adjust seasonings with salt and pepper, then serve warm topped with sliced green onions.

Notes

For a milder version for kids, reduce soy sauce and sugar, and omit ginger. Add vegetables for extra nutrition.
