Korean Ground Beef Bowl

A quick and satisfying Korean dish combining sweet, spicy, and savory flavors with ground beef served over rice.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 green onion, sliced
  • Cooked rice
  • Optional toppings: sesame seeds, kimchi, stir-fried vegetables

Instructions

  1. Cook the rice according to package instructions.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and break it apart. Brown for 5-7 minutes until no longer pink.
  3. Add minced garlic and ginger, cooking for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the soy sauce and brown sugar, stirring to combine. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Drizzle in sesame oil, mixing well until the beef is glossy and coated.
  6. Layer rice in bowls and top with the beef mixture.
  7. Garnish with green onions and any additional toppings before serving.

Notes

Feel free to substitute ground beef with turkey, chicken, or vegetarian alternatives. Adjust spice levels as per your preference.
