Snickerdoodle Cookies

Delightful and chewy Snickerdoodle cookies with a warm cinnamon-sugar coating, perfect for any occasion.

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt; whisk together and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, beat softened butter and 1 ½ cups sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture, mixing until fully combined.
  5. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. In a small bowl, mix 3 tablespoons cinnamon with 1/4 cup sugar.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture, and place on a lined baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.

Notes

Chill the dough for about 30 minutes before baking for better texture. Store in an airtight container.
