Easy Homemade Spaghetti O’s with Meatballs

A nostalgic bowl of spaghetti O’s with tender meatballs and a rich tomato sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup small pasta shapes (elbow or ‘O’s)
  • 1 pound ground beef or your choice of meat
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 jar (24 oz) of marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Meatball Mixture: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until well combined.
  3. Form the Meatballs: With clean hands, form small meatballs, roughly 1 inch in diameter, about 20-25 meatballs.
  4. Cook the Meatballs: In the same pot, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, browning them all around, about 5 minutes.
  5. Combine with Sauce: Once browned, reduce heat and add marinara sauce. Stir gently and let simmer for about 10 minutes.
  6. Add the Pasta: Toss in the cooked pasta and stir well to coat. Cook together for an additional 3-5 minutes.
  7. Serve Warm: Remove from heat, serve hot, and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding grated cheese into the meatball mixture or serving with garlic bread.
