Crockpot Pierogi Casserole with Kielbasa

A comforting and flavorful casserole combining Kielbasa and creamy pierogi, perfect for busy weeknights or gatherings.

  • 1 lb Kielbasa, sliced
  • 1 pkg frozen pierogi (16 oz)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 cup sauerkraut, drained (optional)
  • 1 can of cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Dice the onion and slice the Kielbasa.
  2. Layer the Ingredients: In your crockpot, layer half of the frozen pierogi, half of the diced onions, and half of the Kielbasa. If using, add half of the sauerkraut.
  3. Add Soup and Cheese: Spoon half of the cream of mushroom soup over the layered ingredients, drizzle in half of the milk, and sprinkle with a third of the shredded cheddar cheese.
  4. Repeat the Layers: Repeat the layering process with the remaining components.
  5. Set and Cook: Cover the crockpot with its lid and set it to cook on low for 4 to 6 hours.
  6. Check for Doneness: When finished, the pierogi should be soft, and the sausage slightly browned.
  7. Serve and Savor: Spoon the casserole onto plates and enjoy.

Notes

For the best flavor, serve alongside a crisp salad or warm bread. Can be easily adapted for larger crowds or dietary preferences.
