Creamy Mozzarella Garlic Butter Chicken Bowties

A comforting one-skillet meal featuring tender chicken in a velvety garlic cream sauce with bowtie pasta, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 tbsp butter, divided
  • 1 lb bowtie pasta
  • 4 cups heavy cream
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, plus more for topping
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the bowtie pasta according to package instructions, drain, and set aside. Reserve a 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water.
  2. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of the butter over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until no longer pink, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove chicken and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add shredded mozzarella and Parmesan, stirring until melted.
  5. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, add the drained pasta, and toss to coat in the sauce. Serve immediately with extra mozzarella on top.

Notes

Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. This dish will not freeze and reheat as well as fresh due to cream sauce separation.
