Cozy Mac and Cheese Meatloaf Casserole

A hearty casserole combining savory meatloaf and creamy mac and cheese, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup dry macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or a blend)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni in a pot of salted boiling water until al dente, about 6-8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, egg, milk, salt, and pepper, mixing until evenly combined.
  3. In another bowl, mix cooked macaroni with 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheese until well-coated.
  4. Spread half of the meat mixture in a greased baking dish. Layer the cheesy macaroni over it, then top with the remaining meat mixture.
  5. Sprinkle remaining shredded cheese and breadcrumbs on top.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 40-45 minutes or until cooked through and cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
