  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, sliced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Zest and juice of 1 lemon
  • 12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the bowtie pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/4 cup of the pasta cooking water.
  2. Season the sliced chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until golden and fully cooked through. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Add the lemon zest and juice, simmer for 3 to 5 minutes until slightly thickened. If too thick, add reserved pasta water or extra broth.
  7. Return the cooked chicken to the pan and simmer for 2 minutes.
  8. Add the cooked bowtie pasta and toss to coat. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stove over low heat with a splash of broth or cream to loosen the sauce.
