  • 4 slices thick-cut bread (ciabatta or sourdough)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella, provolone, or cheddar)
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the garlic butter: In a small bowl, mix the softened unsalted butter with minced garlic. Set aside.
  2. Sear the steak: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Season steak with salt and pepper, then sear for 4-5 minutes per side.
  3. Slice the steak: Remove from skillet, let rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.
  4. Toast the bread: Preheat broiler. Place bread on baking sheet, spread garlic butter mixture, and broil for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Assemble the toasts: Layer sliced steak on each toast and top with shredded cheese.
  6. Final broil: Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
  7. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

You can customize with different cheeses or add jalapeños for heat. Best consumed fresh.
