Banana Split Dump Cake

An easy, crowd-pleasing dessert that combines the classic flavors of a banana split in a convenient dump cake format.

  • 4 medium ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow or white cake mix
  • 1 stick (½ cup) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream or 1 tub whipped topping
  • 12 bananas, sliced (for garnish)
  • ½ cup fresh strawberries, halved or sliced (for garnish)
  • ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • Optional: Chocolate syrup or melted chocolate for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, layer the sliced bananas, drained crushed pineapple, and sliced strawberries evenly across the bottom.
  3. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the layered fruits without stirring.
  4. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top of the cake mix.
  5. Bake for about 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and set.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
  7. Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream, topped with sliced bananas, fresh strawberries, and chopped nuts. Optionally, drizzle with chocolate syrup.

Notes

Ensure your bananas are ripe for the best sweetness. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
