Amish Hamburger Steak Bake

A cozy family favorite combining tender hamburger, savory gravy, and fluffy mashed potatoes for a comforting meal.

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 medium Onion, diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 cup Beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 cups Mashed potatoes
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic. Cook until browned, about 10 minutes.
  3. Drain excess fat and add Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir well and cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Spread the beef mixture evenly in a greased baking dish and layer with mashed potatoes.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

This dish can be customized with ground turkey or veggies. It pairs well with roasted vegetables or a fresh salad.
